Perfect quiet getaway with perfect views!

My partner, mom and I had a glorious 2 night stay at Shane's Fraaigelegen Farm. There is a bumpy dirt road to the property, making it far enough away from the road that you can only hear the peacocks and birds. The Shiraz cottage is next to another one. It is simple, with everything you need for a braai or making any dinner. The beds were very comfortable, with clean, white bedding and warm blankets for the winter. There are also heaters, which we didn't need in October, but we appreciated the warm water bottles. There is both a built in braai outside as well as a weber. We ordered some of the farm eggs, which Shane procured from a nearby farm. The strawberry jam was delicious. While walking around the lovely dam on the property, we met Shane and his friendly mom. In the morning, I also had a great walk around the property in the vineyards. It's close to Tulbagh and a short drive away from many farms. Shane also gave us great recommendations of wine farms and lunch spots, a good mix between fancy and rustic. At night, the stars were clearly visible thanks to the lack of light pollution.
We also enjoyed the sunsets from the stoep. We had a great time and can highly recommend.

Of campfires, Mountains and Waterfalls...
Thanks so much to the wonderful hosts. Your positive energy is contagious! The farm eggs and olive oil we bought from you made for a wonderful breakfast, and the waterfall hike you suggested was absolutely gorgeous! We had a wonderful night camping, with the gentle babbling of a little stream in the background. Beautiful views of the mountains while cooking and braaiing in the rustic firepit boma. You will see us again!

A HIDDEN GEM!
I was blown away by just how perfect this accomodation was. I stayed in the "Shiraz" cottage. It was well kept, with a comfortable double bed and all the kitchen facilities you could need. There is an outdoor braai for those hot summer evenings and a fireplace for those cold winter nights. Right next to the cottage is rows of vineyards - behind them the Wittenberg Mountain Range. From the cottage you can also see the dam, just a two minute walk away - take a dip! The sunsets are something else. Sitting on the patio watching the sky turn streaks of pink and purple was definitely a highlight. The nearest wine estate is a 15 minute drive and the little town of Tulbagh is just under 10 minutes drive.Oh and the hosts are marvelous - so welcoming and warm. I loved how quiet this little getaway was, the tranquility of the area and the privacy of the chalet meant that I left entirely too relaxed! Worth the money.

"The stay at Fraaigelegen exceeded even our highest expectations. From the moment we arrived we were stunned by the beauty of the surroundings and the spectacular setting. The welcome from Juergen & Venishree was warm and friendly, and really set the tone for the entire weekend!
We were able to relax completely in the comfortable cottage. Everything we needed was provided and the simplicity was close to perfection. The beds are so comfortable and the cottage is spacious while at the same time being wonderfully cosy! The fireplace is such an excellent addition to the whole experience.
I honestly cannot give a high enough recommendation to Juergen & Venishree; they have created a haven where your worries just drift away while you take in the beautiful sunsets on the surrounding mountains. We will definitely be making many more trips to this stunning farm!!!"

"If you are looking for peace and beautiful nature Fraaigelegen Farm is just the place to be. Venishree and Juergen are perfect hosts and they have a lot of tips what to do around Fraaigelegen. We stayed one week in Olive Cottage and loved the view of the mountains, bird watching from the terrace, sitting outside at the fireplace with a glas of red wine and star gazing at night. We will definitely come again!"

"Fraaigelegen is a wonderful farm with 3 cottages and caravan facilities surrounded by vineyards. Loads of space to roam around in this peaceful area outside of Tulbagh. If you like to swim, then jump into the huge waterhole and swim like a fish which is larger than any pool I have seen at any hotel or B & B. This complex is selfcatering where you can sit out on the veranda, eat and enjoy the scenery, If you don't want to cook, there are plenty of good places to eat in Tulbagh."

We love the fact that there was NO DSTV, this is the best think the owners could have done. We LOVED the fact that there was free WIFI uncapped. BIG plus for the kids. BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Upon making a reservation, a 100% payment for the full stay is required within 48 hours to secure the booking.
Payment via EFT, Cash or Credit Card facility. 
PLEASE NOTE: Any refunds will be reduced by bank charges and fees of our payment providers. 

EXTRAS:
Pre-order all your farm goodies like firewood, farm eggs, extra virgin olive oil, olives etc. Arrange directly with our General Manager Shane.

GENERAL:
Guests are liable for full period of stay as confirmed and booked.
Refunds and waiver of cancellation policies are at the discretion of management and the ability to re-let the rooms.
An administration fee of R150 applies to all cancellations and refunds.
In the event of a premature departure the full extent of the stay, as originally booked and confirmed, will be charged.

CHILDREN:
Discounted rate at caravan/motorhome site for children up to 13 years.
Adult supervision of children required on the farm, especially at the dam.

PETS:
OLIVE cottage is our pet friendly cottage. Only well behaved small to medium sized dogs allowed (maximum 2). Please understand that certain breeds will not be allowed, It is important to clarify with us PRIOR to booking. A reasonable fee will be charged per night.
