In 2015 Venishree and Juergen started a search for a new home in South Africa, primarily to care for Venishree's mum who had Parkinsons. 
After leaving their corporate careers in Germany, they yearned for a journey that would spark new dreams. So they first set off on a nearly four-month adventure in their camper van, traveling through seven countries together with their loyal Hovawart dog, Afra. 

During the journey they coninued an online search of properties and, by chance, they came across properties in the Tulbagh Valley of South Africa’s Western Cape – a discovery that would soon change the course of their lives. Their journey eventually led them to the Tulbagh valley, where they fell in love with this little piece of paradise and decided to make it their home.

They bought Fraaigelegen Farm in 2016 – a place where they could retreat from the rush of city life, recharge in nature, and simply enjoy family life and the beauty of silence. Here, life comes with a generous serving of sunshine, fine wine, delicious food, and the breathtaking sight of snow-capped mountain peaks in winter.

Today, they are supported by a warm and dedicated local team, led by General Manager Shane Reynolds, who ensures that every guest feels welcomed and cared for.


Venishree and Juergen are proud of their mulitiple award-winning ADHARA PREMIUM EVOO extra virgin oil.
